Permanent, full time position, based at the Muirhall Warehousing Complex in West Calder.

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Engineering Technician based at our Muirhall Bonded Warehousing site in West Calder. This role is a vital part of the Engineering Team, helping to maximise the availability of all site assets, ensuring the continuous, smooth operation of the warehouse facilities and equipment.

 

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensuring that all maintenance activities meet the necessary Company health and safety requirements, complying with current legislation to maintain a Safe Working Environment.
  • Assisting the Engineering Manager and Supervisor with the control of all contractors on site for Engineering work, supporting and monitoring all performed activity.
  • Assisting in the planned maintenance of all site assets, including forklift trucks, trailers, stackers and process plant
  • Performing welding and fabricating duties across all warehousing sites
  • Operation and maintenance of the site’s fixed fire protection system
  • Operation of the Company’s Maintenance Management System (MAXIMO), ensuring the robust collection and analysis of availability and operating data on key assets to demonstrate that performance standards are being achieved and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with external contractors.
  • A positive attitude with the desire to expand their skill set.
  • A passion for high quality workmanship and drive for better standards.

 

Qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Relevant qualification and experience in the maintenance of forklift trucks (FTA approved).
  • EITB / City & Guilds or equivalent time served in an Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • IOSH Working Safely qualification.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of relevant HSE legislation.
  • Previous experience of working on a COMAH site is desirable.
