Manufacturing Planner - Edinburgh

Full Time position, based at the Distillery on Wheatfield Road, Edinburgh.

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced manufacturing and engineering planner based at our Edinburgh Distillery. This role holder is an important part of the Edinburgh Manufacturing Team and will be required to lead and influence groups of individuals from all functions within the site to minimise downtime, optimise shutdowns and maximise production efficiency.

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Establishing and optimising work plans to enable manufacturing and engineering to hit KPI targets on: production targets, statutory compliance via the CMMS and PPM completion.

  • To drive work plans to increase the utilisation of engineering team and indirect staff.

  • To communicate weekly plans to all departments.

  • To develop cost effective shutdown plans, maximising resource potential and optimise workload.

  • To review and develop a planned maintenance regime ensuring the content is correct, completion times are specified and the frequency of inspections reflects asset running hours and condition.

  • Developing a production plan detailing all tasks and when they should be completed in order to meet budgeted targets.

  • To incorporate training and development into work plans.

  • To become a super user of the maintenance management system (Maximo).

  • To ensure all documentation is maintained and archived for auditing purposes.

  • To present weekly and monthly KPIs for the function.

To succeed in this role, the following skills and attributes are required:

  • A Logical, systematic and quality focused individual, your success will be defined by your ability to be highly self-motivated individual with strong computer skills.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/engineering team in a FMCG environment.

  • Knowledge and experience in planning work for adherence to key legislative standards.

  • Knowledge and application of proactive strategies.

  • Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Strong team working, problem solving and prioritisation skills

  • Have a high level of attention to detail.

  • Be flexible and able to work on own initiative.
