Planning and Customer Services Manager - West Calder

Permanent, full time position, based at the Muirhall Warehousing Complex in West Calder.

A key opportunity to join the North British team at our Warehousing site has arisen in the form of Planning and Customer Services Manager. The role will involve leading the strategic planning and customer service function of our business, ensuring that all activity is planned in line with operational capability and that the business is able to deliver exceptional service to all its customers.

Reporting to the Customer Logistics & Warehousing Director, the key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Long term strategic planning to ensure warehouse utilisation is maximised and space is utilised effectively, especially over peak periods.
  • Co-ordinate with customers the incoming and outgoing spirit arrangements to ensure that expectations are met in line with operational capacity.
  • Line management responsibility for the Stock department, monitoring progress through Performance Focus Reviews and supporting training development.
  • Leading the team effectively to manage stock, resources and service for all of our customers.
  • Managing the forecast process and analysis, and preparation of production plan.
  • Participating as an active, energetic member of the Muirhall Leadership Team, building and maintaining strong working relationships with the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager in particular.

 

To succeed in this role, the following skills and attributes are required:

  • 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • A proven record of short term and strategic planning in a customer centric environment.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to interpret complex data and develop reporting systems.
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced in compiling and reviewing work instructions and amending as appropriate.
  • CI experience and a desire to constantly drive out waste and embed improvements.
  • Financial awareness and experience of compiling budgets.

 

Qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of H&S, HMRC and environmental risk management principles, including all relevant legislation.
  • Experience of leading and managing people.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principals is desirable.
  • Degree qualification is preferable, although experience will be taken into account.
