Shift Distillery Operator - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY - Edinburgh

Permanent, full time position, based at the Edinburgh Distillery.
 
We have another excellent opportunity for any existing employees interested in a shift based position, as a vacancy has come up for a Shift Operator within our Distillery. The role is responsible for the supporting the Distillery Team Leader in all operations and activities within the distillery, ensuring that the key objectives of the department are achieved in line with both Company and customer expectations. The position will shift based, with 12 hour shifts on a 4 days on dayshift, 4 days off, 4 days on nightshift, 4 days off basis.
 
Reporting to the Distillery Team Leader, main responsibilities will include:
  • Adherence to all relevant Company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures applicable to the duties of a Distillery Operator.
  • Actively participate in all measures and tasks to improve overall health, safety and environmental performance.
  • To monitor and control the operations at the Tun-Room and CO2 plant areas, identifying any breakdowns or anomalies in the process, and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Quality control and monitoring of distillation process, adhering to established process settings and consulting with the Team Leader with respect to any variances.
  • Quality control and monitoring of raw materials (grains) at intake, (including regular stock checks).
  • Operating all aspects of the process to achieve the rate of throughput agreed with the Distillery Team Leader.

 

Relevant skills and qualifications for this role include:
  • At least 3 years' experience in a high volume / speed manufacturing of FMCG environment
  • Basic PC Skills: Email, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Trained, competent and experienced in Permit to Work systems, risk assessments and method statements
  • Demonstrated effective systematic problem solving skills
  • A positive attitude with a desire to expand their skill set.
